You guys would remember that just a few days ago we had asked you guys to vote and tell us if Swaragini should go off air or not. 90% of you had said that the show should not go off-air and it seems the makers have heard all your requests. Yes! The show is not going off-air.  According to the reports, the show has got an extension. The makers of the show have decided to extend it with 2-4 episodes. Yayy!!

Popular entertainment portal quoted a source saying, “Since the channel has cut down the air time of ‘Swaragini’ by 10 minutes, the story cannot be narrated in the 20-minute time slot and meet the scheduled deadline, the makers plan to give the show an extension.This decision is yet to be finalised. However, the talks are on, and the show will most probably be approved, if things fall in place.”

Ever since the news of the show going off air broke out, its loyal viewers have been pleading the makers not to end the show. The twitter hashtag #Don’tEndSwaragini is a testament of that. But the TRPs of the popular drama have been on the decline since three months now and all attempts to pick up momentum have gone in vain so the makers had no other option but to let the curtains fall. Ek Shringaar – Swabhimaan, whose promos are already on air, is said to replace Swaragini at the 9.30pm slot on Colors.

Buzz is that the final episode will be aired on December 16 where the couples will reunite happily. Swara (Helly Shah) and Sanskar (Varun Kapoor) will try to make Abhimanyu (Namish Taneja) escape from the clutches of Pari by securing Mishka’s future. The last few episodes will lead to the expose of Nikhil (Pratap Hada) and Mansi. We are sure loyal fans will show them all the LOOVE till the end.

Helly Shah, who was last seen in Colors’ popular show Swaragini, turns 21 today. She played the titular role of Swara and garnered huge love for her sizzling chemistry with co-star Varun Kapoor. After her show having got shut because of low TRPs, rumors started doing the rounds that she has been approached for the role of Omkara’s love interest in Star Plus’ trending show Ishqbaaz. The actress was recently spotted on the sets of the show which gave rise to many speculations. However, Helly denied the rumors saying she had just gone to meet her friend Surbhi Chandna, who plays the role of Anika on Ishqbaaz.

Namish Taneja, who was last seen in ‘Swaragini‘ co-owns a boutique with his sister. They recently set up a stall in an exhibition in Lokhandwala, where a girl stole their belongings worth of Rs 3 Lakhs, which included cash, a new mobile phone and gold jewellery. The actor has managed to get the CCTV footage and lodged an FIR in Oshiwara police station (Mumbai).

“My sister was there on the counter. As we had to give the rent for the stall, so we had withdrawn 50000 Rs from the Bank. We had kept the money in the bag, which had some gold ornaments along with some earning from the stall and a mobile phone. A group of 4 girls came in stuffs to buy some stuffs. One of girl stole the bag, which was kept on the counter, while my sister was busy with the other two. After a while she discovered the theft and called me. Thankfully, I got the CCTV footage of the exit door. It was clearly visible in the footage that one of the girls, was carrying my sisters’s bag while going out. We immediately blocked all the debit and credit cards and logged the FIR. I had also kept my wallet in that bag, but fortunately because I had to go out for some work, I took it with me. It’s really sad and depressing, when someone steal our hard earned money,” said Namish.

Namish was last seen in popular TV show Swaragini. He played Laksh in the show. There were reports of him being upset with the makers of the show for deteriorating his part. Speaking about the show going off-air in an interview with Hindustan Times, the actor said, “I am really not upset because I was not there in the show for two to three months and my entry was not according to the plan. I am not upset.” He added, “I have a feeling ‘as you sow, so you reap.’ My point is, the story line was deteriorated. They too took some wrong decisions and hence the result is before you. Let’s hope this does not get repeated.”

If there’s one thing that makes the entire family uncomfortable at once, it’s the consummation scenes. In fact, sex scenes or rather ‘love-making’ scenes in Indian TV shows are just getting bolder every day. Be it Mouni Roy and Arjun Bijlani in Naagin or Mahek Chahal, Mona Singh and Vivek Dahiya in Kavach Kaali Shaktiyon Se, when these onscreen couple get along is when you wish you could just fast forward the entire scene. It’s weird how we never noticed how bizarre and funny these scenes actually are. And it’s not the usual flowers or hiding behind a vase shot. These scenes have dialogues and stuff.

But the scenarios that lead to sex are very common. A nasty fight, emotional confession, forced break-up or getting stranded in a weird but beautiful forest-like place. In very rare cases, the onscreen couple actually have sex on their wedding night. People usually have these fantasies of having sex or making out in different places and they do just that in these TV shows. If not a forest-like place that is deserted but has water, fire and everything, it is some part of the house like kitchen, bedroom or the terrace. Guess who is going to be back on television again! One of the most good-looking actors with a large female fan-base, Varun Kapoor, will make a comeback on Colors TV’s upcoming medical drama, Savitri Devi College Aur Hospital. This is one news that all Varun Kapoor fans have been waiting for desperately, to see him back on the small screen. Varun played a doting husband and a responsible son in Swaragini but his role in the upcoming drama is quite a challenge. A source told Tellychakkar,” Colors and Rashmi Sharma have had a long and fruitful association with Varun. The actor has now been offered the challenging lead role in the hospital drama. He will be seen as one of the male leads on the show.”

Well, it is after a very long time that we will see a medical/ hospital drama on television. After Sanjeevani, Dil Mil Gayee and Ek Nayee Umeed Roshni, we kind of missed this genre. And Sanjeevani and Dil Mil Gayee did set a benchmark, considering they were the most loved shows in the country. Though the cast of Savitri Devi College Aur Hospital looks quite promising, we hope that they do justice to the genre. Good news for all Swaragini films, the much loved Ragini is back and as Sridevi. Tejaswi Prakash Wayangankar is all set to be seen in a new avatar in Sony’s new show ‘Pahredaar Piya Ki.’ The shoot of the show has started in Udaipur and the promo will go on air soon. The story is based on Yash Chopra’s classic Lamhe and has a child artist opposite Tejaswi.

Once again, like Swaragini, Tejaswi will be seen in Rajasthani avatar. The who will be playing Anil Kapoor’s role is 10 years old, Afaan Khan. Just like the film, it will be a story of a young man falling for an older woman. The show is being produced by Shashi and Sumeet Mittal, who have made shows like Diya Aur Baati Hum, Tu Sooraj Mein Saanjh Piya Ji. Unlike others, this show will be a very different and offbeat love story on TV. The shoot of the show has started at Udaipur’s palace. After the initial schedule, a heritage hotel set will be created in Mumbai.

Tejaswi became popular as Swara with her refreshing good looks and charm. She hails from a musical family in Mumbai and is an engineer by profession. But it was her love for acting that made her audition for roles and eventually bag one. After a series of auditions, she landed with Colors’ show Sanskaar and played Dhara opposite Jay Soni.

The show was not popular but gave Tejaswi her first break. After this, she got Swaragini with Helly Shah, where she plays her sister. This show had Tejaswi playing a negative role of a sister and was opposite Namish Taneja, while Helly Shah was opposite Varun Kapoor. Swararagini gave Tejwawi the name and fame that she had been waiting for. As a trained singer, she took audience with surprise when she appeared in Comedy Nights with Kapil.

Swaragini wrapped last year and fans of the show were shocked with the abrupt ending. Helly Shah got Devanshi as the role of the grown up Devanshi in the serial going by the same name. But Tejaswi was left with nothing. After waiting for the right offer to come by, she chose Pahredaar Piya Ki. She wanted to do something different and Pahredaar Piya Ki gave her that platform.

Unlike what exactly happened in the film, the serial version is going to have a love triangle. The makers are in search of an actor who will play the third lead in the show. The story is Pahredaar Piya Ki is about a girl whose father works for a royal family. Circumstances make the girl the caretaker of a 10 year old prince. The boy later develops feelings for her. While Lamhe when released in 1991 shocked the viewers with the bold theme of romance, it soon formed a cult status. In the case of TV, it would be interesting to see how a 25 year old and a 10 year romance will be portrayed. Though the show will have its regular dose of family drama as it’s a family show after all. But seems like TV is experimenting from the regular family dramas.

And Swaragini’s Tejaswi Prakash Wayangankar aka Ragini is back on the small screen with another show. The actress will don a royal look in her new show, Pehredaar Piya Ki on Sony TV. The actress will comeback on television with child actor Afaan Khan. Set in Rajasthan, it’s a story of an 18-year-old girl getting married to a 10-year-old boy. The show is currently been shot in the beautiful locations of Udaipur. We got exclusive pictures from the set of the show. Tejaswi plays a royal princess called Diya. Her look is a far extended Marwari look that she had sported in her last show Swaragini. The promo shows her dressed up like a bride in red.

While the role of her husband is played by a 9-year-old child actor Afaan Khan. We also hear that it was a bit awkward for Tejaswi to shoot with Afaan since he plays her husband and is really young. Well, we don’t blame her! The promo shows her doing a karwa chauth pooja for her husband. Pehredaar Piya Ki is a unique and unexplored story which is about a custom that is ancient yet progressive in India. Set in the backdrop of opulent Rajasthan, the show is a love story of an unusual marriage between a 9-years-old boy, Ratan Harshvardhan Singh and an 18-years-old girl, Diya. Diya sacrifices her own dreams and gets married to Ratan to be his protector, a protector of his wealth, his life and his dignity till he becomes old enough to take care of himself. Diya is a regular 18-year-old girl and her life take a complete turn when she is asked to marry a 9-year-old Ratan, under unusual circumstances. Ratan is the son of Harshvardhan Singh and Padhma Singh, a royal family in Rajasthan.

Diya feels indebted to Harshvardhan Singh and has deep regards for him. Though Diya and Ratan won’t be seen romancing each other but their relationship will be that of any other husband and wife having respect and affection. Later on, the show will have a grown up actor playing Ratan and the complications that will occur in their relationship. The show will have a long outdoor schedule in Rajasthan soon and later on the show will be shot on a massive set that’s been built in Mumbai . The show will take the late night slot on Sony TV.

Talking about love, Tejasswi is very clear about the fact that she does not believe in dating co-stars. In an interview to The Times of India, she said, “I don’t entertain anybody on the set, so getting involved with someone at work is impossible. In fact, I don’t even approve of people flirting or joking with me. I don’t have to date my co-actor to get the chemistry right. Where’s the need for that? As an artiste, all I need to do is emote in front of the camera; I don’t have to replicate that in my real life. We know the veteran actress for her power-packed performances on hit shows like Swaragini and Qubool Hai. The verdict has been passed by a local court. Her best known character isRazia Gaffor on Qubool Hai. The lady and her mother, Susheela Badola have been accused in a bounced cheque case. It seems the cheque given by them got bounced. As per reports in leading Hindi publication Amar Ujala, “Advocate Sukhbir Singh said that Alka and her mother had borrowed 50 Lakhs from an acquaintance, Avtar Singh. The money was borrowed with the promise of serial-making. When Avtar asked Alka to give back her money, he got 2 cheques of 25 Lakhs each. But they got bounced. After that Avtar, filed a case against Alka and her mother in Malerkotla court.”

It seems in 2015, the actress was sentenced to jail for two years but Alka filed a petition against it in Sangrur Court. Now, it seems the Sangrur’s district court upheld the order of Malerkortla court. Malerkotla is a town in Punjab and home to leading stars like Anas Rashid and Mohammad Nazim. Alka is the daughter of veteran theatre actor Vishwa Mohan Badola. Her brother is Varun Badola. She was last seen on Swaragini as the evil Daadi. Today, a rumour was doing the rounds that she has been hospitalised as she is a blood pressure patient. However, when Bollywood Life got in touch with her brother Varun Badola, he said, “No, I am not aware of her being in hospital. It can be that she is feeling little unwell. She is presently in Delhi.” He also informed that they are challenging the order in a higher court. “Our legal team is working on the matter. It takes a couple of days for petition to reach High Court and we should get a clearer picture by the evening,” he stated. As per reports, in 2015, the actress was sentenced to jail for two years but Alka filed a petition against it in Sangrur Court. It looks like the Sangrur’s district court has upheld the order of Malerkortla court. As per sources, finances are surely not a cause of worry for Alka. The veteran actress is one of the best paid actresses in the industry making in excess of Rs 40K per episode. Plus, she has worked in Rajasthani films as well. There are quite a few actors who have managed to keep their relationship under wraps successfully. The latest one to join the gang is Namish Taneja. The Swaragini actor was in a relationship since six years but managed to keep it a secret. During this period, he was linked to Swaragini co-star Tejasswi Prakash and Kanchi Singh as well, but even that did not make Namish blurt out the truth. The actor who will be seen on Ikyawan next today revealed that he was in a relationship for six years with Aanchal Sharma, who is studying to be a company secretary. The girl hails from Mumbai while Namish is a Delhi boy. The tale of their romance is quite interesting as well. Namish told The Times of India, “I had gone to a restaurant where I saw Aanchal and instantly fell in love with her. It might sound filmy, but when I saw her leaving the restaurant, I went up to her and asked her if she’s on any social networking site. She got baffled and said no. I then requested her to share her number with me. Though she tried to give me a wrong number, she is so innocent that she ended up giving the right one. A few days later, I started sending messages to her and after a lot of struggle, I managed to convince her for a meeting. We gradually became friends and a year later, I told her that I wanted to spend the rest of my life with her. Fortunately, she accepted my proposal.”

The actor who belongs to Delhi came to Mumbai around seven years back. He met Aanchal soon after and they fell in love. Namish told the paper, “Initially, it was just an infatuation, but then I fell in love with her childlike innocence and simplicity.”

The actor has his reasons to shield Aanchal from the public glare. Namish is quite a hit with teenage girls and this news is surely a disappointing one for them. “Aanchal is not from the entertainment industry and was pursuing graduation. I didn’t want to create unnecessary trouble for her by making our relationship public — it might hamper her studies. I am a protective boyfriend and I don’t want to make her personal life hell just because she is dating an actor,” explains Namish. The two want to settle down professionally before tying the knot. Parineeta Borthakur who is known for shows like Swaragini, Ek Tha Raja Ek Thi Rani and Savdhaan India has finished shooting for an Assamese film, The Underworld. She is paired with well known singer Zubeen Garg and they are considered as a hot jodi in regional cinema. The film is expected to release later in April 2018 during the festival of Bihu. “I have wrapped up the shoot for my movie The Underworld and hope people will shower their love by watching the movie. I and my team has tried our best for the film,” she added. The film industry is her home state is growing and Parineeta is one of the most recognised names. The 2017 film Mission China was a huge hit giving Bollywood films in the state a run for their money. Parineeta says, “Yes, Mission China broke all records in the history of Assamese films. The way people showed their support, I am sure Assamese film industry is definitely doing wonders. My next Assamese movie is with Zubeen Garg again, and I hope people show the same support and love.”

The actress who has done shows like Swaragini and Ek Tha Raja Ek Thi Rani recently opted out of Meri Durga citing personal issues. She says she has recovered now and is raring to go. “After a break of almost two months due to some unavoidable circumstances, I am back to work! I attended the 25th anniversary of our Shilpighar (where I learnt and understood how much I love drama) in Duliajan, Assam. It was started by Ashima Devchaudhary (wife of renowned writer Phanindra Devchaudhary). They teach acting, dancing, improvising a scene, imagining with music, etc but with moral values. I was one of the first batch students, we did many shows on stage. In fact my first TV shoot was a Shilpighar program we did for Doordarshan and it’s celebrating it’s Silver Jubilee. I am feeling so nostalgic. I have also started attending meeting and would be glad to make my comeback on TV asap,” she said.

We have heard about quite a few tragic accidents occurring on the sets of movies as well as TV shows. Recently, Star Plus’ show Ikyawann’s lead Namish Taneja escaped one fatal accident while shooting. As the video of the incident surfaced, we saw as Namish entered the room to take a seat, a huge kino light fell on the chair and Namish nearly escaped the horrific accident that could have happened in the nick of time.

When an entertainment portal spoke to Namish about the incident, he said, “Everything happened in a fraction of seconds. I would have been severely injured, but thankfully, I was saved by the grace of God.” He further added, “The generous cast and crew of my show felt I did a fantastic job in the last episode. Because of which they bombarded me with the compliments when I reached the set. They thought the accident happened because I got afflicted by the evil eye due to the compliments. Colors Swaragini was one of the most popular shows from the channel and still has fans online. Buzz is that Helly Shah aka Swara with reunite with Namish Taneja who played Lakshya her first boyfriend on the show. Fans will remember that their love story did not take off on the show as Swara’s sister played spoilsport in the dark love triangle. As per a report in Bombay Times, the two have been finalised for a new show, which will be produced by Shoonya Square Productions. They have made shows like Belan Wali Bahu and Thapki Pyar Ki in the past. The publication further said that it was inspired by Imtiaz Ali’s Jab We Met. Interestingly, many wanted to see them together in Swaragini but that never happened. The heroine rising from the dead to slay her enemies, the vamp screaming that she’s preggers; there are some cliches that simply refuse to leave TV shows. Every year, we feel the makers will come up with something new but sadly that does not happen. Here are five cliches that we need freedom from this Independence Day…

Fake pregnancy
If the 70’s and 80’s gave us the cliche of “Anjaane Main Bhool”, then fake pregnancy is something that is rampant in TV shows. When a vamp tries to win over the hero but fails miserably, the last resort is fake pregnancy. Recently, we saw how Daadi felt that Naira was (Shivangi Joshi) pregnant in Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai and how Mansi faked that she was expecting just to get married to Anmol. Meri Aashiqui Tumse Hi, Ishqbaaaz, Dil Bole Oberoi have all used the concept of fake pregnancy for various purposes. What is annoying is that the male character does not even remember the night when they might have made out with such results. And it is even more irritating to see how coolly the male lead takes on the responsibility.

Bride – swapping
It is extremely easy to switch places with the dulhan on the altar if Indian TV is to be believed. Incidentally, bride-swapping is one of the highest TRP raking mechanisms for any show. Uttaran, Naamkarann, Swaragini, Udaan, Sasural Simar Ka – the examples are countless. We wonder how the other girl manages to find that precise moment when she can replace the other one. We always thought that a would-be bride is always surrounded by a host of friends, cousins, etc and has a chaperone 24×7 on her wedding day.

Rising from the dead
When your enemies are relentless, you rely on the smartest of tricks, which is to fake your demise. Ishita (Divyanka Tripathi Dahiya) is the queen of this. She once died and returned literally from the funeral pyre. Even Shivaay faked losing his life in Ishqbaaaz. Like bride-swapping, this track also gets a lot of eyeballs, which is why special promos are cut for fake deaths!

Love triangles amongst siblings
We have seen how viewers are repulsed with the idea of an extramarital affair but are surprisingly cool about two siblings falling for the same man or woman. In Swaragini, we had two cousin brothers going crazy about the same girl while BFFs Iccha – Tapasya also fell for the same guy, Veer in Uttaran. We also saw how a loving relationship slowly changed into a hateful one as Chakor – Imli switched husbands in Udaan. Even in Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai, cousins Gayatri (Kanchi Singh) and Naira fell for Kartik (Mohsin Khan). A supernatural drama like Naagin too wasn’t spared as Shesha (Adaa Khan) and Shivanya (Mouni Roy) went mad over Ritik (Arjun Bijlani).

Kidnapping drama
Like bride swapping, kidnapping too happens any time any where. And the best part is that kidnapping seems to be the activity of first time criminals on TV shows. You surely do not need any proficiency for this.
